Wanted:  Fine and Rare Wines and Complete Cellars

We will gladly consider the purchase of your properly stored wines. Simply submit a written list of vintages, wines and quantities by mail, email, or fax. Please indicate the conditions under which these wines have been stored, and their provenance when known to you. You may submit your asking price, or we will promptly quote you a price. If your cellar is extensive, we will travel anywhere in the world to inspect your wines.

Better Than Selling at Auction

All the recent publicity seems to be helping the auction houses more than the buyers and sellers. Remember, auction prices that you often see quoted are not a true reflection of the amount that the seller receives. In addition to receiving a 15% premium from the buyer, the auction house also gets a 15% commission from the seller, plus an additional 1% for insurance. This is money straight out of your pocket. Further, you may have to add shipping charges of $25-50 per case from your return. Generally, as a seller, you will receive less than two thirds of the price paid by the buyer. And if prompt payment is important to you, as much 3-4 months will usually pass between shipping your wine to the auction house and receiving your payment. Unsold wines must be reconsigned until the next auction, or shipped back to you at your expense.

When we purchase your wines, we pay on delivery.

E-mail or fax us your list and we will respond asap. Compare the response from the auction houses and remember to deduct at least 16% from their estimate, plus $25-50 per case for shipping. You will have no problem assessing the better deal!
