International Wine Report
The 2010 Ingenuity is a blend of 62% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre, 12% Grenache and 12% Petite Sirah sourced from the Paderewski Vineyard. It is dense, powerful and focused, offering aromas and flavors of ripe blackberries and cherries, along with spices, peppered beef, chocolate, mint and hints of vanilla bean. Richly textured with deep layers of intense flavors that are constantly unfolding, working their way into the long lasting finish. This spent 20 months in french oak barrels and puncheons. The Ingenuity is a remarkable blend, that should last well into the next decade. (Best 2014-2025).

Rhone Report
A big step up from the Estate Blend, the 2010 Ingenuity is a knockout effort that checks in as a mix of 62% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre, 12% Grenache, and 12% Petite Sirah that was aged in 61% new French oak. Gorgeous all around, with a lively, yet decadent bouquet of grilled beef, black fruits, licorice, mineral, violets, and earth, it flows onto the palate with a full-bodied, rich texture, notable freshness, and a clean, energetic finish. Already delicious and approachable, it nevertheless has the concentration, acidity, and tannin to evolve gracefully for 7-8 years.

Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - Epoch’s 2010 Ingenuity bursts from the glass with massive dark fruit and a rich, powerful personality. Provencal herbs, mint and tobacco develop later, adding considerable complexity and nuance. Still, this remains a massive, virile wine endowed with tons of structure and heft, some of which comes from the use of Petit Verdot, which is not commonly found in Paso. The blend in 2010 is 62% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre, 12% Grenache and 12% Petite Sirah.

Additional Information

Sub-Region :
Paso Robles
The largest AVA in San Luis Obispo County, Paso Robles has 18,500 acres under vine. The Santa Lucia mountain range shelters most of the region from the fog that cools the southern San Luis Obispo AVAs, so it is better suited to warm climate varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache. Wines produced in the warmer eastern part of Paso Robles tend to be more approachable in their youth, while wines from the cooler western part tend to age better. View all our items from Paso Robles
Region :
California
Since the famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 California wines have unquestionably ranked among the best in the world. From the Anderson Valley in the North through Temecula Valley in the South, California vineyards grow dozens of wine grape varietals that produce wines of many different styles. The California wine industry has steadily gained ground since the 1960s (the industry took a major hit following Prohibition), but its roots date back over 200 years. Major grape varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. View all our items from California
