Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Jeb Dunnuck - An estate that continues to go from strength to strength, Epoch is owned by Bill and Liz Armstrong, with the wines made by Jordan Fiorentini. All of their wines come from their estate Paderewski Vineyard, and both their 2010s and 2011s are incredibly strong, with the edge going to the 2010s at the moment. You can’t go wrong here, though, and these are serious, top-flight wines.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Jeb Dunnuck - Shifted slightly more towards the Syrah side in 2010, the Authenticity is 76% Syrah and 24% Mourvedre that’s fermented in a combination of concrete, stainless steel and new French oak before aging in primarily French oak barrels and puncheons. Fantastic on the nose, with smoky black fruits, graphite, chocolate and complex game and leather nuances, this serious Syrah deliver a full-bodied, powerful, yet elegant mouth feel, brilliant concentration and a chalky, mineral-driven and tannic finish. While a big wine, this has uncommon polish, freshness and poise.

Additional Information

Sub-Region :
Paso Robles
The largest AVA in San Luis Obispo County, Paso Robles has 18,500 acres under vine. The Santa Lucia mountain range shelters most of the region from the fog that cools the southern San Luis Obispo AVAs, so it is better suited to warm climate varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache. Wines produced in the warmer eastern part of Paso Robles tend to be more approachable in their youth, while wines from the cooler western part tend to age better. View all our items from Paso Robles
Region :
Since the famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 California wines have unquestionably ranked among the best in the world. From the Anderson Valley in the North through Temecula Valley in the South, California vineyards grow dozens of wine grape varietals that produce wines of many different styles. The California wine industry has steadily gained ground since the 1960s (the industry took a major hit following Prohibition), but its roots date back over 200 years. Major grape varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. View all our items from California
