Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - I found a lot to like in these new releases from McPrice Myers. The wines are made from a variety of appellations in the Central Coast.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - I was totally struck by the 2009 Grenache L’Ange Rouge, a wine that captivates all the senses. I hope readers can appreciate just how rare it is to encounter a Central Coast Grenache with this much sheer finesse. The purity of the fruit is simply striking. The 2009 clocks in at 15.8% alcohol, none of which is evident, proving that balance is what counts. There is no shortage of that here. The 2009 is 90% Grenache, 6% Syrah and 4% Mourvedre, fermented with 40% whole clusters and aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 20% new.

Additional Information

Varietal :
This red wine grape is probably the most widely planted grape in the world. Used primarily for blending, Grenache (known in Spain as Garnacha) lends a fruity, spicy character to famous wines like Chateauneuf du Pape from France's Rhone region and GSM (Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah) blends from Australia. Grenache favors hot, dry climates and can reach high sugar levels, which make it ideal for fortified wines like Banyuls and Vin Doux Naturals. View all our additional Grenache items
Region :
Since the famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 California wines have unquestionably ranked among the best in the world. From the Anderson Valley in the North through Temecula Valley in the South, California vineyards grow dozens of wine grape varietals that produce wines of many different styles. The California wine industry has steadily gained ground since the 1960s (the industry took a major hit following Prohibition), but its roots date back over 200 years. Major grape varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. View all our items from California
