Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard is a huge, explosive wine endowed with tremendous density, richness and power. Blackberries, cassis, graphite, minerals, spices and tar are some of the many notes that wrap around the big, dramatic finish. This is a stunning showing. Wow! Pierre Seillan describes this site as having a longer growing season and generally cooler temperatures than Helena Montana. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029.

Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - These are two showstoppers from Pierre Seillan and Anakota. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste the 2010s, but given the wines Seillan has in barrel at Verite, there is every reason to be optimistic about the 2010s here as well. I tasted the 2009s from tank, where they were settling after having spent 14 months in oak. Considering the quality of what is in the glass, these remain very fairly priced wines. Both wines are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

An extra special wine, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard possesses full body as well as a terrific bouquet of blue and black fruits, crushed rocks and spring flowers. A super-muscular, rich, powerful Cabernet built for long-term cellaring (which may explain why it has not yet been released), I would not touch a bottle for 5-7 years. It should last 30-50 years.

California
Since the famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 California wines have unquestionably ranked among the best in the world. From the Anderson Valley in the North through Temecula Valley in the South, California vineyards grow dozens of wine grape varietals that produce wines of many different styles. The California wine industry has steadily gained ground since the 1960s (the industry took a major hit following Prohibition), but its roots date back over 200 years. Major grape varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. View all our items from California
