Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Monica Larner - A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Petit Verdot, the 2008 Il Fauno di Arcanum opens with an inky dark color and perfectly ripe aromas of plump cherry and blackberry. Beyond the enticing fruit aromas is a long list of spice and tobacco-related characteristics. This is a thickly layered and opulent Tuscan blend that is enhanced by territory-driven aromas of grilled herb and rosemary oil. The best part for me, however, is the soft richness this wine delivers in the mouth. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2027.

Additional Information

Region :
As the world’s top wine-exporter, Italy is an important wine region both because of the amount and quality of wines produced. Just two grapes—Nebbiolo and Sangiovese—are used to make some of the finest Italian wines, including Barolo, Brunello de Montalcino and Chianti. Still, Italy is home to dozens of wine grape varieties, with important wines being made from Corvina, Barbera, Cortese, Moscato and traditionally French varietals. The major wine regions include Piedmont, Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Campania and others. Most producers follow the government-regulated DOC classification system, with a few notable exceptions including the esteemed “Super Tuscan” producers. View all our items from Italy
