Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Nearly a carbon copy of the 2007, although it does not yet reveal the same awesome aromatics (but it’s one year younger), it exhibits amazing richness, depth, and fruit. This super-intense 2008 is another candidate for perfection.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Not far off the pace, the 2008 Thorevilos contains a slightly higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (by about 10%), but the Cabernet Franc component is still significant. The vineyard’s terroir combined with the Cabernet Franc provides a haunting equilibrium and extraordinary aromatic intensity. This rich, full-bodied wine possesses great personality and soul. It should drink well for 20-25 years.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Antonio Galloni - As outstanding as all the Abreu wines are, if I had to choose one that stands apart from the others it would be Thorevilos. The 2008 Thorevilos is the most complete and deeply satisfying of Abreu’s 2008s because the balance of fruit and structure is so impeccable. The 2008 literally explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke. There is a fleshiness and depth of the fruit here that separates the Thorevilos from the other 2008s. Layers of fruit build towards the massive, masculine finish. In 2008 Thorevilos is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038.

Since the famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 California wines have unquestionably ranked among the best in the world. From the Anderson Valley in the North through Temecula Valley in the South, California vineyards grow dozens of wine grape varietals that produce wines of many different styles. The California wine industry has steadily gained ground since the 1960s (the industry took a major hit following Prohibition), but its roots date back over 200 years. Major grape varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. View all our items from California
