Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Reviewer, Jay Miller - The 2007 Argentino Malbec is a blend of the Nicasia and Adrianna cuvees. Since I have been tasting the Catena wines, this has generally been my preference because it seems to have an extra dimension of complexity. So it is with the 2007 vintage. The Argentino offers a similar aromatic and flavor profile, but with just a bit of extra nuance. It will be most enjoyable to taste these 3 wines side-by-side in another 10 years (or, to be truthful, at any time).

Additional Information

Varietal :
Malbec
Though Malbec is now widely known as a varietal wine made in Argentina, it is actually a French red-wine grape traditionally blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and others to produce Bordeaux wines. Ripe plum and blackberry define the nose. Tight tannins and an earthy, woody quality make Malbecs a great match for red meat. View all our additional Malbec items
Region :
Argentina
Wine lovers came to know Argentinean wines through an almost-forgotten grape from France: Malbec. In Mendoza, the center of Argentina's wine industry, sunny days, an arid climate and mountainous terrain create ideal growing conditions for Malbec to thrive. In addition to Malbec, Chardonnay and other noble grape varieties that flourish in Argentina, a little-known white grape called Torrontès is gaining favor. Look for wines from producers like Bodegas Renacer, Don Miguel Gascon and Navarro Correas. View all our items from Argentina
