A ripe, concentrated Chilean red, with a broad swath of macerated currant, fig paste, espresso, loam and black licorice notes all carried by dense but integrated tannins. The finish lets sage and mint notes chime in. Best from 2010 through 2012.Additional Information

ChileWinemaking has been part of Chilean culture since the Spanish arrival in the 16th century. But it was only after phylloxera devastated most European vineyards – and Chile finally reversed its isolationist policy – that Chilean wine reached foreign shores. Now, excellent wines from Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and other Vitis vinifera grapes are being produced in Chile’s variable climate, and exported to the tune of over $6 million annually. |
