Massive, dramatic, beautiful, intense, but young and firm in tannins, with a cut of fresh acidity. Shows concentrated blackberries, black currants, violets, minerals and cedar, leading to a long, penetrating finish. Very great Cabernet, vibrant and potent, just tremendous in structure. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon shows even more opulence and expression, and clearly seems to be from a warmer vintage, with slightly less acidity and noticeable structure. The wine is still loaded with copious quantities of blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with coffee bean, camphor, and barrique smells. The wine has fabulous richness, a pure mouthfeel, and a long, massive finish, but with sweet tannin and lower acidity than the 2005. Drink it over the next 15 or more years.Additional Information
