Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Hedonist's Gazette - We finished the evening with exquisite bottles of nearly perfect Fonseca 1970 and 1992 Vintage Port.
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
This colossal vintage port reveals a nearly opaque black/purple color, and an explosive nose of jammy black fruits, licorice, chocolate, and spices. Extremely full-bodied and unctuously-textured, this multilayered, enormously-endowed port reveals a finish that last for over a minute. It is a magnificent port that will age well for over 30-40 years.
Wine Spectator
The best Fonseca since the perfect 1977. Intense cassis, violet and plum aromas. Full-bodied, medium sweet and bursting at the seams with fruit and tannins. A wine of great mass and concentration. Try in 2005.

Additional Information

Region :
The coastal country of Portugal is best known for its fortified wines, Port and Madeira. Port is so-named for Oporto, the coastal town where it is produced, not as a reference to the country name. Present-day Portuguese wine production began in the 15th century, with fortification of local wines beginning in the 18th century. The Douro Valley, Dão and Vinhos Verdes regions produce some of the better known Portuguese wines, including reds and whites from local indigenous grapes. View all our items from Portugal
