Wine Spectator
Elegant, ripe and polished, positively glowing with violet-tinged blackberry, currant and black cherry aromas and flavors, many-layered, complex and utterly seductive, a seamless wine that just melts across the palate. Nothing but greatness ahead.

Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Among Gaja's three single vineyard Barbarescos, the most compelling is the Sori San Lorenzo. The 1990 is a massive wine with a staggering yet unevolved nose of herbs, hickory, smoked meats, cedar, and red and black fruits. Spectacularly concentrated, with layers of flavor, this dense, blockbuster wine should be cellared for 4-6 years and drunk through the first two or more decades of the next century.

Additional Information

Region :
Italy
As the world’s top wine-exporter, Italy is an important wine region both because of the amount and quality of wines produced. Just two grapes—Nebbiolo and Sangiovese—are used to make some of the finest Italian wines, including Barolo, Brunello de Montalcino and Chianti. Still, Italy is home to dozens of wine grape varieties, with important wines being made from Corvina, Barbera, Cortese, Moscato and traditionally French varietals. The major wine regions include Piedmont, Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Campania and others. Most producers follow the government-regulated DOC classification system, with a few notable exceptions including the esteemed “Super Tuscan” producers. View all our items from Italy
