When first overwhelms the taster is the spectacular spicy, cedary, toasty, black-raspberry fragrance that roars from the glass. The 1988 has superb extraction of fruit, is full bodied, and is a rich, classic Pomerol that, while much more forward than Petrus, does have at least 20 or more years of aging potential.
