Bottled in 2005; smooth and creamy with rich toffee, vanilla and mellowed dried fruits; luscious, toasty and tasting of meringue, creme anglaise and roasted meat.

Pale amber color. Sweet honey and caramel drizzled fruit, bittersweet chocolate, buttercream, and roasted nut aromas follow through on rich, supple entry to a fruity medium-full body with evolving layer of flavor and a dash of cedar and sweet spice. Finishes with a long candied fruit, walnut, cocoa, hay and spice fade. A fantastically crisp, balanced and flavorful malt with a superb engaging texture that will make a brilliant aperitif.

Winery Notes
Winery Notes:
Talk about bounce-backability, we first released the 1985 in 1997 and it ran through to 1998. It was popular then for its aromatic spicyness. We challenged John Ramsay to do his magic and find us some more. Hes done that, combining, stocks owned by Berry Bros & Rudd with liquid held by Edrington, the whole married in Spanish oak butts.

The result is a small quantity of a wondrous, smooth, oak vanilla dram, which represents the latest addition to the very rare selections from the 1980s. Yet to be bottled but shaping up wonderfully, and expected by Christmas 2005. Watch this space.
