The opening aroma is somewhat steely and minerally; further time allows the bouquet to display scents of oak, pepper, walnut and crushed flowers. The palate entry comes alive with svelte, lean and biscuity flavors; at midpalate, the flavors expand to include almond paste, dried apricot, nougat and vanilla extract. Finishes gracefully, but with a sassy final kick of spirit. A sterling example of how majestic vintage Cognac can be.
